ASAP Yams is one of the most influential figures in hip hop history. From his high school-aged A&R work with Jim Jones' legendary Diplomats Records, to his pioneering role at the then-nascent intersection between hip hop and the internet with his #RNT Tumblr account, to the revolutionary geographically-agnostic sound of his early production for the ASAP Mob, Yams (nee Steven Rodriguez) irrevocably changed the cultural and musical landscape for generations to come. Featuring hundreds of little and never-before-seen exclusive photographs, ASAP Yams: Making of a Mob explores the founding and history of one of the most iconic collectives of this young century. Produced in concert with the ASAP Foundation charity, all royalties will be donated to the Foundation's mandate of community outreach, food security, and drug education for the youth of New York City.
