Corviali is a housing project on the outskirts of Rome. Ten stories high and nearly one kilometre long, it houses over 8,000 residents; essentially a city in a single building. Austrian photographer Otto Hainzl lived in the building for an extended period of time, and recognised in it an unusual phenomena in the modern age: people truly living communally and finding a home amongst the most banal and impersonal of surroundings. This volume showcases images of Corviali and those who live there.
