Victor, Colorado - the City of Mines - boomed when a prospector found gold. People flocked to the town to find their fortunes and its population skyrocketed. An area which had once been isolated ranching country was totally transformed. The gold is now long gone but Victor, with its current population of only 450, still echoes this history. Anderson & Low discovered it 15 years ago and its sense of being outside of time has drawn them back repeatedly. Their photographs make for a disarmingly intimate and moving study of a small American town.
