Timotheus Tomicek presents his view of the world with hit or miss. In his heterogeneous and cross-media approach, the Austrian artist, film-maker, and photographer has compiled a work consisting of photography, illustration, painting, sculptures, and texts that reflects his work in a clever, modern, and humorous way. The poetic photobook reflects fragments of art history and brings an intrinsically very romantic artist's project into the 21st century. At the same time, the artist's concern is not to find answers, but links between elements such as images and words, which in turn only throw up more questions: where do the things come from and why do they not appear in random combinations? The fine line between banality and profundity is not only reflected in the title hit or miss, but also sets the tone for the entire work: Is it possible to deduce the whole from the part? Is the part really reflected in the whole?
