About the book

1863. The Confederates are dug in on Lookout Mountain. Their positions overlook the Tennessee River and threaten the advance of Union troops, much to the displeasure of the ill-tempered General Hooker. He orders his troops to storm the mountain but, just as the attack is about the begin, thick clouds engulf the mountaintop, significantly reducing visibility. So begins a long, nightmarish day for the Blues - and especially for Blutch and Chesterfield, couriers roped into joining the battle by the general.
