In his apartment, a makeshift refuge, our unnamed narrator scans photographs and catalogues family keepsakes while his unnamed country trembles in the throes of civil war. Others, unprepared and exposed, force their way in. As tensions mount and conditions grow direr, it becomes impossible for the reluctant host to simply ignore his unwanted guests. In the fight for survival that ensues, they push each other to the grim limits of humanity. No Room on Board is a claustrophobic, dystopian reimagining of the arketype of moral reckoning in the face of survival. The anonymity of its places and people drives further the ever-present feeling of doom-a timely reminder of what we have been, are, and will be truly capable of when confronted with the unimaginable.
