Based on a true story. In the early noughties, it emerged that two German police officers had been members of a Ku Klux Klan spin-off group operating in the German state of Baden-Wurttemberg. During questioning as part of a later police investigation, the two officers refuted accusations of racism, claiming that they had joined the Klan solely to meet new people, particularly those of the opposite sex. Both officers were subjected to disciplinary action but, due to their supposed naivete, they were allowed to keep their jobs in the German police.
