Jessica has been invited to a New Year's Eve Ball in the Cotswolds, at an elderly earl's manor - a charming place least-likely to host a murder. Sadly, the joys of the holiday are cut short when the earl is found dead, clutching a napkin to his mouth. It's hard to know where Jessica should begin as she untangles the web of gossip and tension between family members of the upstairs troupe and work colleagues of the downstairs group below. As Jessica narrows down the list of suspects, she realises that she must act quickly before the true villain gets away.
