Sierra Leone Past and Present includes essays on the 19th and 20th centuries on selected themes on the history of Sierra Leone. The essays were originally presented at a conference in Freetown in connection with the issues of slavery, memory and citizenship as part of a project at the Harriet Tubman Institute, York University, supported by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.
