About the book
With his pitch-perfect ear for rhythms and dialogue of the inner city, Brian Ray proves he is a master of the genre in South Side Dreams, where he captures the harrowing life of a Chicago family as they struggle to get on in life. Taking place within the space of a week, this book follows the lives a black family living in a desolate neighbourhood on the crime-ridden South Side.
