About the book
When Buddy Holly died in 1959, the whole word mourned. His career lasted three short years and he had an outstanding impact on rock'n'roll. Yet he was only 22 when he died. In The Buddy Holly Story, rock journalist and broadcaster John Tobler takes a perceptive look at the short and legendary career of the bespectacled young Texan. Illustrated with more than 120 photographs, this large format biography explores in words and pictures Buddy Holly's life and personality, and the influence of his music which can still be felt through the myriad re-releases and cover versions of his rock'n'roll classics.
