About the book
'One of the best Australian crime writers.' - The Times Literary Supplement 'Lean and tricky...the tension is almost palpable and the solution is a triumph' - Publishers Weekly Two teenage girls met on a hitch-hiking trip. One of them, in a rage, stabbed a young man to death. Each accused the other of the crime but neither accusation could be proved. Four year's later, the victim's sister hires Jeffereson Shields to find out which girl was guilty. A story about the manipulation of one person by another, this is a particularly absorbing novel with a deft solution.
