Jim Anderson was an apprentice at the same time as Lester Piggott but an injury ruined his chances of a successful career as a jockey. Instead, he turned to journalism, becoming a sports editor and features writer. He has now put his love and knowledge of the turf into poetry. Some of the poems have been published before, but this is Anderson's first full anthology.
