- Mezzogiorno
A unique meditation on family and the Italian diaspora, Mezzogiorno combines the genres of biography, memoir, fiction and travel to tell the story of three generations of a family from southern Italy. Set against the collapse of the Fascist Party and peasant riots, a boy's ghost reveals the tragedies, scandals and secrets of the Iantosca family to his sister. The drama unfurls amidst a landscape of abject poverty, vicious landlords, feuds, curses and the tarantella - a world lost to 21st century Italy.
