Since the end of 2005, Cinebook has published more than 250 titles to become the premier publisher of the Franco-Belgian Ninth Art (Bande dessinée or BD) in English, in markets traditionally dominated by American superhero comics and Japanese manga. The Canterbury-based publisher carefully picks classic—even legendary—series and promising new productions to offer the very best of European comics for all ages, after meticulous translation by a team of native speakers of both English and French. In five years, Cinebook published three times as many “Lucky Luke” books in English as had previously been done in 50 years and has published the entire “XIII” series (18 volumes) in less than three years.
